Backend Engineer (Java + Spring Boot)

Role overview Build and operate backend services for products that connect business systems and handle data at scale. You’ll own features from design through deployment and monitoring, working across APIs, microservices, and cloud infrastructure with a small engineering team.

Responsibilities - Develop scalable services using Java and Spring Boot. - Build and improve REST APIs, including integrations with external platforms. - Work with Kafka and event-driven services to process real-world data. - Design features end to end, then deploy and monitor them. - Collaborate on backend, infrastructure, and cloud work.

Requirements - Strong Java and Spring Boot skills. - Good understanding of PostgreSQL and database design. - Familiarity with Kafka or event-driven systems and Docker. - Knowledge of OAuth2, authentication, and security practices. - Strong problem-solving skills and a track record of active coding: the role asks for 100–200 GitHub commits in the past year and a strong profile or ranking on a coding platform. - Curiosity, initiative, and willingness to take ownership in a fast-moving environment.

Nice to have - Experience with cloud platforms, CI/CD pipelines, API integrations, caching tools such as Caffeine or Redis, or observability tools such as Zipkin.

Benefits and work setup - Full-time, remote role based in India, with working hours aligned to the US Central Time Zone (approximately 7:30 p.m.–3:30 a.m. IST, including a one-hour break). - Work on production products with end-to-end exposure and ownership.
