Senior Software Engineer, Add-Ons

Role overview A senior engineering role on a browser add-ons platform that supports millions of users and extension developers worldwide. The position focuses on shipping major features, modernizing moderation and reviewer tooling, and raising engineering practices across a stack built on Django, MySQL, and React/TypeScript.

Responsibilities - Deliver major features and architectural improvements across the add-ons stack, including automated moderation pipelines, reviewer tools, and developer-facing hub experiences - Establish and maintain engineering standards around code review, production readiness, incident response, runbooks, and infrastructure as code - Build robust observability and data-driven insights for production services - Improve CI/CD pipelines using declarative, pipeline-as-code approaches that make changes reproducible and reviewable - Write clear technical documentation, including design notes, architecture decision records, runbooks, and incident write-ups - Collaborate with designers, product managers, QA, and community contributors to ship end-to-end improvements

Requirements - Strong hands-on experience building and maintaining production applications with Python and Django - Track record operating and improving production software where reliability and safe delivery matter - Deep background in CI/CD systems and treating infrastructure as code - Frontend experience with React and TypeScript - Comfort working in unfamiliar codebases and tracing requests and asynchronous jobs end-to-end - Ability to mentor peers, give thoughtful code review, and contribute to open-source practices
