About this role
Role overview
Join a consumer-focused digital bank as a Product Data Scientist, embedded in a cross-functional squad alongside engineers, designers, marketers, and product managers. The mission centers on enabling faster, smarter decisions across a fast-scaling UK banking product portfolio spanning personal, business, joint, youth, kids, and credit card accounts, along with savings, investments, and pensions. You'll use quantitative analysis, experimentation, and self-serve tooling to deepen user engagement and shape product strategy.
Responsibilities
- Apply quantitative analysis, data mining, and visualization techniques to understand how customers interact with banking products and translate findings into product strategy recommendations. - Guide product squads in identifying meaningful metrics and design, run, and interpret A/B experiments to continuously improve the customer experience. - Partner with finance colleagues to build a unified company-wide view of customer lifetime value and assess how individual features affect user profitability. - Collaborate with engineers to ensure the right data is captured and made available for generating relevant business insights. - Contribute to a culture of self-serve analytics by supplementing dashboard-based decision making with deeper, more impactful analyses. - Support squads across domains such as growth, payments, lending, wealth, and core banking, depending on team allocation after hiring.
Requirements
- Strong commercial mindset with the ability to translate numbers into business perspective. - Self-starter who proactively identifies opportunities and drives them to completion independently. - Comfort operating at both hands-on and strategic levels depending on the question at hand. - Solid grounding in SQL, with working knowledge of Python preferred. - Demonstrated experience designing and analyzing large-scale A/B experiments. - Collaborative team player who mentors peers and partners effectively with non-technical colleagues.
Nice to have
- Prior experience working in cross-functional product squads rather than siloed analytics functions. - Familiarity with self-serve BI tools such as Looker or comparable platforms. - Exposure to financial services, consumer products, or other high-volume customer-facing environments.
Benefits and work setup
- Salary range of £55,000 to £75,000 plus performance-linked incentive awards and a benefits package. - London office base with flexibility for distributed working across the UK, including occasional in-person meetups. - Flexible working hours with trust-based delivery expectations. - Annual learning budget of £1,000 for books, training, and conferences. - Visa sponsorship and relocation support available for candidates moving to the UK. - Part-time arrangements supported whenever operationally feasible. - Commitment to equal opportunity hiring, with reasonable adjustments available throughout the recruitment process.
