About this role

Role overview

A remote opportunity for an experienced Lead System Architect to serve as the principal technical authority on enterprise Pega implementations. The role centers on guiding architecture decisions, shaping delivery standards, and mentoring engineering teams throughout the full software development lifecycle. It blends hands-on architectural leadership with stakeholder collaboration on large-scale digital transformation programs.

Responsibilities

- Act as the lead architect for Pega-based enterprise platforms, setting technical direction from requirements gathering through deployment and operations. - Translate business objectives into scalable solution designs, then oversee integration with third-party systems and enterprise services. - Define and enforce development guardrails, coding standards, and quality gates through design reviews and code reviews. - Manage vendor escalations, platform-level defects, and accessibility remediation efforts in line with regulatory and security requirements. - Diagnose complex production issues, recommend performance optimizations, and guide infrastructure alignment strategies. - Coach engineers, senior architects, and cross-functional teams on Pega best practices and disciplined delivery.

Requirements

- Eight or more years in IT architecture, solution design, or large-scale enterprise application development. - Current Pega Lead System Architect (LSA) certification. - Deep, hands-on experience with Pega Infinity and Pega 8.x, including the Constellation UX Design System. - Solid grasp of enterprise architecture principles, system integrations, networking concepts, and application security frameworks. - Demonstrated success leading technical teams and running design, code, and solution governance reviews. - Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities suited to a fully remote, collaborative environment.

Nice to have

- Familiarity with Pega eForms, PDF generation, and document automation tooling. - Background supporting government, regulated, or other large enterprise environments. - Knowledge of accessibility standards such as Section 508 compliance. - Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, or a related field; a master's degree is a plus.

Benefits and work setup

- 100% remote work arrangement for U.S.-based candidates, available as full-time or contract. - Engagement on long-term, large-scale enterprise digital transformation initiatives. - Compensation listed at $130,000–$140,000 plus PTO, holidays, immediate 401(k) match, and additional benefits. - Collaboration with senior architects and technology leaders, with influence over technical strategy and enterprise architecture direction. - Project stability paired with opportunities to mentor and shape team practices.
