Job details
About this role
Role overview A fully remote senior frontend role centred on building and scaling complex single-page applications with React 18+ and TypeScript. The position blends hands-on engineering with technical leadership, covering component architecture, state management, performance optimisation, and code quality for enterprise web products.
Responsibilities - Develop and maintain production-grade single-page applications using React 18+ and TypeScript, with a focus on scalable architecture and maintainability. - Implement state management with Redux Toolkit, Zustand, or React Query, and integrate RESTful and GraphQL APIs including caching and error handling strategies. - Design and build reusable component libraries following atomic design principles, and document components using tools such as Storybook or Docusaurus. - Drive performance optimisation through code splitting, lazy loading, and bundle tuning, while establishing coding standards and architectural patterns. - Conduct technical code reviews, collaborate with backend engineers on API contracts, and document key technical decisions and system architecture.
Requirements - At least five years of professional software development experience, including a minimum of three years focused on React. - Expert-level proficiency in modern JavaScript (ES6+) and TypeScript, with strong command of React core concepts such as hooks, context, lifecycle, and reconciliation. - Hands-on experience with modern build tools (Webpack, Vite, or Turbopack) and styling approaches such as CSS Modules, CSS-in-JS, Tailwind CSS, or styled-components. - Solid understanding of Git workflows (Git Flow or trunk-based development), web performance optimisation, and responsive, cross-browser design. - Practical knowledge of testing strategies using Jest, React Testing Library, and end-to-end frameworks.
Nice to have - Familiarity with web storage technologies (localStorage, IndexedDB, WebSockets) and accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1). - Experience with Node.js or other backend technologies to support full-stack collaboration, and contributions to open-source projects or technical writing.
Benefits and work setup - Fully remote position with flexible working hours and unlimited holiday allowance. - Health insurance, a modern technology stack, and a professional development budget for courses, conferences, and certifications. - Collaborative engineering culture with an emphasis on code quality, continuous improvement, and exposure to challenging projects across multiple domains.
