Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (Temporary)

Role overview

This is a temporary, senior-level position focused on safeguarding the quality of user-facing software by designing and maintaining automated test frameworks for web interfaces. The role works hand-in-hand with UX designers and software engineers to surface usability issues early and to embed automated checks into continuous delivery pipelines, helping the broader team ship reliable, accessible products.

Responsibilities

- Design, code, and maintain automated UI test scripts and supporting frameworks - Partner with designers and developers to interpret requirements and define comprehensive coverage - Run exploratory testing sessions to uncover usability defects and UX improvement opportunities - Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and monitor feedback loops for rapid iteration - Investigate failures, perform root-cause analysis, and clearly communicate findings to engineering teams - Champion ongoing refinements to QA processes, tooling, and test methodologies

Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a closely related discipline - Demonstrated background in software test automation, with emphasis on UI testing - Strong programming ability in Java, Python, or JavaScript - Hands-on experience with automation tools such as Selenium, Cypress, or TestCafe - Familiarity with UX/UI design principles and user-centered design practices - Working knowledge of CI/CD tooling (e.g., Jenkins, Git) plus strong analytical and communication skills

Nice to have

- Agile or Scrum team experience - Exposure to performance testing tools such as JMeter or LoadRunner - Understanding of accessibility testing standards, including WCAG
