Senior QA Automation Engineer - SDET

Role overview Join a core quality engineering team focused on a distributed in-memory database platform. The position centers on building reliable automated test coverage, validating complex distributed behavior, and improving release confidence for systems used by enterprise and cloud deployments.

Responsibilities - Design, develop, and maintain automated tests and supporting frameworks for functional and performance scenarios. - Participate in release validation cycles and help streamline the release testing process. - Verify new features, bug fixes, and performance improvements against expected behavior. - Investigate complex defects spanning distributed transactions, replication, networking, storage, and cluster management. - Build automation solutions that reduce manual effort and lift overall team productivity.

Requirements - 5+ years of experience in software quality assurance, test automation, or software engineering. - Strong Java programming skills and familiarity with the broader Java ecosystem. - Hands-on experience designing and maintaining automated test frameworks. - Background testing distributed or backend systems. - Solid understanding of at least three areas: multithreading, concurrency, networking, distributed systems concepts, transactions, and consistency models.

Nice to have - Experience with NoSQL or distributed databases, especially Apache Ignite or GridGain. - Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes, and with relational databases. - Use of modern AI tooling to improve engineering productivity. - Background in performance testing, profiling, and troubleshooting complex systems.

Benefits and work setup - Hybrid or remote in Bulgaria; remote across several EU countries. - Listed salary band of EUR 59,500 – 80,500 gross annually, calibrated to experience within a gender-neutral compensation framework. - 25 days of paid annual leave plus holidays; globally distributed team.
