Senior QA Automation Engineer (Python)

Role overview A senior-level engineering position focused on building and maintaining automated quality assurance solutions using Python. The role supports an engineering organization in Eastern Europe and is structured as a fully remote opportunity based in Romania. It combines hands-on test development with the strategic responsibility of shaping automation practices across software delivery.

Responsibilities - Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts and reusable frameworks written in Python - Translate manual test cases into scalable, repeatable automated coverage - Integrate automated tests into build and deployment pipelines so defects surface early - Collaborate closely with developers, product owners, and other engineers to clarify acceptance criteria and expected behaviour - Track, triage, and document software defects, verifying fixes through regression runs - Contribute to overall test strategy and mentor less experienced colleagues on automation techniques

Requirements - Demonstrated senior-level experience in software quality assurance and test automation - Strong proficiency in Python for scripting, tooling, and test framework development - Working knowledge of common automated testing frameworks and CI/CD concepts - Solid grasp of software development lifecycles, testing methodologies, and defect management - Ability to work independently, communicate clearly, and operate effectively in a remote, distributed setting
