About this role
Role overview A fully remote senior consulting position focused on Zero Trust security architecture for U.S. federal and defense customers. The role partners with mission stakeholders to design identity-centric environments, mature compliance posture, and modernize legacy infrastructure in line with NIST and DoD guidance.
Responsibilities - Design and mature enterprise Zero Trust frameworks aligned with NIST SP 800-207 and the DoD Zero Trust Strategy, ensuring continuous verification across user, device, network, application/workload, and data pillars. - Lead development of complex use cases that evaluate and integrate emerging identity, micro-segmentation, and Zero Trust technologies. - Conduct high-level architecture reviews, technical analyses, and feasibility studies to transition legacy systems into compliant, identity-centric models. - Prepare compliance documentation, technical reports, and executive-level briefings for government stakeholders, auditors, and mission partners. - Provide subject matter expertise on enterprise IT, cybersecurity, and compliance challenges, including RMF, NIST 800-53, and CMMC alignment.
Requirements - 8+ years of experience in IT consulting, cybersecurity architecture, or compliance engineering. - Active Security+ certification with deep Zero Trust expertise in continuous authentication, least-privilege access, ICAM, and micro-segmentation. - Demonstrated leadership of cross-functional technical teams and ability to drive initiatives independently. - Strong communication skills with experience engaging project managers, technical leaders, government officials, and auditors. - Hands-on experience implementing the DoD Zero Trust Architecture and navigating the RMF process. - U.S. citizenship with an active Secret security clearance.
Nice to have - Prior experience working with DISA on DoD IT modernization and STIG compliance. - Advanced certifications such as CISSP, CISM, ISC2 CGRC/CAP, or specialized Zero Trust credentials.
