Enterprise Architect - Mid Level

Role overview

Support the design and evolution of enterprise and solution architectures for complex defense systems and networks. This mid-level role combines architecture development, systems engineering analysis, technical documentation, stakeholder collaboration, and mentorship across multiple projects. The position is primarily remote, with expected attendance at an office in Stafford, Virginia, approximately one to two times per month.

Responsibilities

- Develop enterprise and solution architectures compliant with DoDAF 2.02 and applicable government architecture standards. - Extend architecture-tool schemas when needed to support data, modeling, and solution-development requirements. - Provide architectural subject-matter expertise, explain technical decisions, and mentor other technical staff. - Collaborate with engineers, technical specialists, and standards personnel to identify, capture, and validate architecture data. - Prepare and maintain technical systems documentation, presentations, training materials, and comment-resolution records. - Coordinate and participate in architecture meetings, technical discussions, and planning activities.

Requirements

- Bachelor’s degree and at least three years of DoDAF architecture experience; an additional two years of relevant experience may substitute for the degree. - At least one year of experience with Cameo, MagicDraw, or related tools in the Magic portfolio, including systems-of-systems or cyber-systems engineering applications. - Experience with UAF and/or SysML, plus familiarity with UML, UPDM, and IDEF. - Current, active Department of Defense Secret clearance and the ability to maintain it. - Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present technical information accurately. - Ability to think critically, solve problems, influence stakeholders, and work independently and collaboratively across multiple efforts.

Nice to have

- Familiarity with military systems-engineering processes, acquisition guidance, operational concepts, system interfaces, and related organizational procedures. - Technical education or experience in data modeling, systems engineering, machine learning and predictive analysis, agile software development, build methodologies, or simulation. - Understanding of systems integration, API development, automated bulk data exchange, and impact assessment.

Benefits and work setup

The role is full time and primarily fully remote, with periodic in-person work in Stafford, Virginia. The stated projected compensation range is $77,200–$128,800, depending on experience, skills, location, education, certifications, and contract requirements.
