About this role
Role overview
This role owns test strategy and automation across web applications, APIs, and blockchain integrations. The focus is not simply on increasing test counts or preserving happy paths, but on finding meaningful failures, hidden skips, and differences between implementations. The work requires an adversarial reading of tests and product flows, with particular attention to failures that can be masked by dependencies or incomplete assertions.
Responsibilities
- Define and maintain a test strategy across web apps, APIs, and blockchain-connected workflows. - Automate critical user journeys with Playwright. - Investigate edge cases such as failed transactions, dropped network connections, and background jobs that do not complete. - Review assertions and test setup for silent skips, including cases where a dependency fails to load and the intended check never runs. - Compare multiple implementations or representations to identify real behavioral divergence. - Prioritize the next most valuable tests across a broad product surface instead of adding only more routine happy-path coverage.
Requirements
- Experience developing automated tests for web applications, APIs, or comparable integrated systems. - Practical Playwright experience for critical end-to-end journeys. - An adversarial approach to reviewing tests and interpreting green results. - Ability to identify failure modes involving transactions, networks, asynchronous jobs, and unavailable dependencies. - Strong judgment about test prioritization and risk-based coverage. - Ability to distinguish genuine validation from tests that pass without exercising the intended behavior.
