About this role

Role overview

This protocol engineering role focuses on durable on-chain rules for registries, attestations, and credential lifecycles. The work extends beyond implementing individual contract functions: it requires designing systems that remain coherent as credentials are issued, revoked, versioned, governed, and upgraded over time. A central concern is preserving the difference between an attestation that was valid when created and the current trust status of its issuer.

Responsibilities

- Design and implement Solidity-based protocols for registries, attestations, and credential management. - Model issuer registration, authorization, suspension, and revocation in a way that remains understandable over the life of the system. - Define approaches for schema evolution and versioning without compromising the interpretation of existing data. - Design upgrade paths that account for stored state, compatibility, governance, and operational control. - Analyze access-control and governance decisions, including who can create, modify, revoke, or interpret protocol records. - Maintain a clear separation between historical validity and present-day issuer trust when designing credential logic.

Requirements

- Strong Solidity experience with the ability to design protocols rather than only isolated contracts. - Understanding of smart-contract access control, governance, lifecycle management, and upgradeability. - Ability to reason about long-lived data, changing schemas, and the consequences of irreversible or difficult-to-change on-chain records. - Careful approach to distinguishing historical facts from current status and policy decisions. - Experience translating complex protocol assumptions into precise, maintainable implementations. - Strong technical judgment around consistency, interoperability, and future evolution.

Nice to have

- Familiarity with Ethereum Attestation Service concepts. - Knowledge of relevant ERC standards and decentralized-identity systems. - Experience with registries, credential protocols, attestations, or related trust infrastructure.
