PHP Laravel Backend Developer [gn]

Role overview This is a permanent, full-time backend engineering role focused on building and maintaining PHP applications within a Laravel and Symfony ecosystem. The position is open to experienced developers within commuting range of Koblenz, with flexibility for remote work within the surrounding region. Day-to-day work involves designing and shipping REST APIs, working with relational and in-memory data stores, and contributing to testable, well-documented backend services.

Responsibilities - Design, build, and maintain backend services and REST APIs using PHP, Laravel, and Symfony. - Model and optimize data in MySQL or MariaDB and integrate Redis for caching and performance needs. - Write automated tests with PEST or PHPUnit, and document APIs using Swagger or OpenAPI. - Implement and consume HTTP-based integrations, including interfaces following the Model Context Protocol where applicable. - Collaborate with frontend, product, and infrastructure teammates to deliver reliable, maintainable features.

Requirements - Two to five years of professional PHP backend development experience. - Strong working knowledge of Laravel, with exposure to Symfony considered a plus. - Solid understanding of REST API design, HTTP, and relational databases such as MySQL or MariaDB. - Hands-on experience with Redis and with testing frameworks like PEST or PHPUnit. - Familiarity with API documentation standards such as Swagger or OpenAPI.

Nice to have - Exposure to Model Context Protocol implementations or similar emerging integration standards.
