Senior Data Backend Engineer

Role overview Senior backend engineering role focused on designing and optimizing microservices and distributed data pipelines that power AI development in the autonomous vehicle domain. The position involves shaping large-scale architectures for video data curation, behavioral search, and dataset management, while enabling efficient AI training workflows at significant scale.

Responsibilities - Design and build microservices, workflows, and distributed applications that accelerate data mining and AI training - Implement solutions for streaming, resilience, logging, security, authentication, workflow orchestration, and data management - Develop and deploy AI models, including Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) workflows supporting hybrid and agentic patterns - Analyze and operationalize complex distributed systems for high-throughput performance - Build and maintain ETL pipelines and work with big data engines across the data lifecycle

Requirements - MS with 6+ years, or BS (or equivalent experience) with 8+ years in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field - Strong programming skills in Python or Golang - Proficiency with Kubernetes, Helm, Hive, Parquet, SQL, and vector databases such as Milvus - Experience building high-performance, scalable software systems and ETL pipelines - Background in data mining or AI development - Strong collaboration skills with system software and AI teams, plus a proactive, problem-solving mentality

Nice to have - Prior experience with large-scale real-time streaming, augmented reality, or data curation - Familiarity with Spark and accelerated computing tools - Exposure to Large Language Models, Vision-Language Models, and RAG architectures - Innovative outputs such as patents, publications, or open source contributions

Benefits and work setup Compensation includes a base salary range (USD 184,000–356,500 depending on level), eligibility for equity, and a benefits package. The role is offered for an existing vacancy.
