Software Engineer - BrandX

Role overview

Join a distributed product engineering team that builds the operator-facing tools for a restaurant technology SaaS platform, including the brand dashboard, internal admin application, billing and invoicing systems, sign-in and identity management, and a growing natural-language AI assistant embedded in the dashboard. The team sits at the intersection of customer brands, finance operations, and the broader order engineering organisation, so the work spans new product surfaces, billing investigations, and AI capability expansion. This is a fully remote position based anywhere in Northern Ireland, joining a small group of engineers spread across the US and Europe.

Responsibilities

- Ship features across the brand dashboard and internal admin tools, including new settings pages and operator workflows - Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies across finance integrations, helping turn platform usage into accurate invoices - Extend an in-dashboard natural-language AI assistant with new capabilities that let brands update information across hundreds of stores conversationally - Pair with senior engineers, author and review code daily, and contribute to CI, test coverage, and deployment practices - Use AI coding agents such as Claude Code and GitHub Copilot as a default part of the development workflow and help push what these tools can do - Participate in on-call rotation, daily stand-ups, retrospectives, and learning sessions such as game days

Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience - 1 to 3 years of professional software engineering experience, or a strong portfolio of shipped projects - Working knowledge of C# and .NET, with comfort reading code you did not write - Some experience building web UIs, ideally with React and TypeScript, though any modern framework is a reasonable starting point - Comfortable with SQL and relational data, including understanding how data moves between systems - Understanding of unit, integration, and end-to-end testing and when each is appropriate - Daily use of AI coding agents, with the ability to explain the fundamentals underneath what they generate

Nice to have

- Exposure to authentication systems such as SSO and two-factor authentication - Curiosity about billing, invoicing, or finance-adjacent integrations - Comfort working with colleagues across other time zones and asking questions early
