Job details
About this role
Role overview As the first dedicated product manager, you’ll shape an early-stage cloud security product with the founders and engineering team. You’ll use customer conversations and clear prioritization to decide what the team builds, while defining how security controls should work across development and production—including when AI agents make changes.
Responsibilities - Lead discovery calls and product demos with security and platform buyers; turn their feedback and objections into roadmap priorities. - Maintain a ranked backlog across the product, weighing customer needs, pilot and revenue impact, compliance relevance, and engineering effort. - Write product requirements and decision memos, align priorities with founders, and check that delivered work meets customer commitments. - Translate customer needs into engineering requirements, including AI-agent tool behavior, failure cases, and limits on autonomous changes. - Coordinate releases with engineering, define completion criteria, prepare release notes, and explain changes to customers. - Represent the product in buyer and sales discussions, address product-level compliance questions, and set success measures and launch criteria.
Requirements - At least five years in product management, or a transition into product from founding or engineering, working on enterprise B2B infrastructure, security, or developer products. - Technical fluency to interpret Terraform plans, understand databases and SQL, discuss APIs, and weigh engineering trade-offs. - Direct experience conducting customer interviews and pilots, then distilling findings into a small number of focused product bets. - Strong prioritization and writing skills, including experience ranking competing requests with a small team and producing self-contained specifications and decision memos. - Confidence leading discovery, demos, and roadmap conversations with security executives and platform leaders; ability to map product capabilities to compliance frameworks. - Daily use of AI tools for research, synthesis, or prototyping, with a considered perspective on products used by language model agents.
Nice to have - Experience with policy-as-code tools or in cloud security posture management, infrastructure-as-code, or CI/CD products. - Zero-to-one product experience at an early-stage company.
Benefits and work setup - Remote work across Europe, with an in-person team gathering in Europe each quarter. - Async-first collaboration, written decisions, and protected focus time. - Significant ownership as the first product hire, early-employee equity, and a market-benchmarked salary. - An early product environment where you’ll build the product process, roadmap approach, and analytics from the ground up; priorities may change as the team learns.
