Fractional Product Manager, Renewable Energy (LG NOVA)
Job details
About this role
Role overview
Guide an early-stage renewable energy software product from proof of concept toward commercialization. You will work part time with customers, founders, domain experts, and engineering to choose the problems to solve and shape an AI-enabled platform for utility-scale project development.
Responsibilities
- Set and regularly refine the product roadmap, turning business goals and customer evidence into clear priorities. - Define minimum viable products and weigh customer value, strategic fit, technical feasibility, and delivery timing. - Interview renewable energy developers, join product demonstrations, and turn workflow needs into actionable requirements and measurable success criteria. - Identify where AI workflows, recommendations, predictions, or automation can improve project development, and work with technical teams to shape those capabilities. - Establish a practical development process, break larger ideas into deliverable increments, and participate in planning, reviews, and demonstrations. - Connect customers, founders, engineering, domain advisors, sales, and customer success; explain product tradeoffs and capabilities clearly.
Requirements
- Around 10 years of product management experience in renewable energy, ideally building tools for developers or independent power producers. - Direct project development knowledge, such as project sizing, interconnection queues, power flow studies, financial modeling, proposals, RFPs, or supplier bids. - A record of taking B2B SaaS or enterprise products from concept or MVP through commercialization. - Strong customer discovery and prioritization skills, with experience translating customer problems into products. - Ability to work closely with software engineering teams and apply product discovery, roadmapping, requirements, and agile practices. - Clear communication, comfort with ambiguity and limited resources, and willingness to stay hands-on.
Nice to have
- Experience with AI/ML products, especially generative AI or agent-based applications. - Familiarity with enterprise workflow software, data platforms, knowledge graphs, or document intelligence.
Benefits and work setup
Fractional contract of approximately 15–20 hours per week, with remote or hybrid work.
