Remote job
Radar Systems Engineer
Job details
About this role
Role overview A software-focused engineering role on a Radar Systems team that develops, maintains, and operates advanced software for a global phased array radar network. The work sits at the intersection of hardware and software, spanning signal processing, modeling, simulation, and tracking for space domain awareness applications that monitor objects in low Earth orbit.
Responsibilities - Design, model, simulate, and validate algorithms across the radar signal processing chain, including matched filters, detection, and parameter estimation. - Analyze I/Q and intermediate radar data in time and frequency domains to troubleshoot and optimize workflows such as pulse compression, FFT, coherent integration, and clutter or interference mitigation. - Build Python tools for radar control, data acquisition, processing, and visualization, producing clear diagnostics and plots. - Support operational deployment, calibration, and validation of radar systems, including timing, range, Doppler, amplitude, and phase. - Contribute across the full radar lifecycle, from concept through development, deployment, and ongoing performance monitoring.
Requirements - U.S. citizenship with the ability to obtain a U.S. security clearance. - Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Physics, or a related technical field, plus 3+ years of hands-on experience in radar systems or signal processing. - Strong proficiency in Python for analysis, prototyping, and visualization. - Working knowledge of radar signal processing fundamentals, including filtering and range/Doppler measurements. - End-to-end understanding of phased array systems, RF fundamentals, beamforming, and angle-of-arrival concepts.
Nice to have - Experience modeling phased array or Tx/Rx chain components and diagnosing RF issues such as IQ imbalance, clock drift, nonlinearity, and interference. - Familiarity with multiple radar architectures, waveforms, and design tradeoffs. - Background in software deployment, DevOps, Linux-based operations, or real-time production systems. - High-performance computing exposure, including GPU optimization or FPGA work.
Benefits and work setup - Flexible remote or hybrid work opportunities. - Unlimited paid time off for most roles. - Competitive salary, bonus, and equity packages. - Comprehensive health, dental, and vision coverage. - Eligibility requirements related to U.S. export control regulations apply.
