About this role
Role overview A senior-level opportunity sits on a high-impact migration effort inside a regulated financial-technology environment, where the engineering team is moving significant workloads to modern cloud infrastructure. The position blends hands-on cloud engineering with DevOps responsibilities, focusing on production readiness, operational reliability, and infrastructure automation. The work is collaborative, partnering with senior DevOps engineers and cloud architects on a transformational program.
Responsibilities - Design and operate resilient cloud systems across a major public cloud provider, emphasizing uptime, scalability, and production readiness. - Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, CloudFormation, or CDK to provision and manage environments. - Reconfigure and extend an existing CI/CD pipeline built on Argo, supporting continuous delivery across accounts and services. - Deploy and orchestrate containerized workloads using ECS and Docker, and automate service configuration tasks. - Configure networking components such as security groups, cross-account IAM roles, policies, and resource-sharing patterns. - Write automation and integration scripts in Python and Bash to streamline operational workflows.
Requirements - At least five years of professional experience with a major public cloud platform (AWS, GCP, or Azure). - Demonstrated, production-grade experience with DevOps tooling beyond surface-level familiarity, including CI/CD pipelines and operational tooling. - Hands-on experience designing resilient, highly available systems and supporting them in production. - Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, or CDK) and container orchestration (ECS, Docker). - Strong scripting skills in Python and Bash for automation and deployment tasks. - Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical or quantitative field; equivalent professional experience and specialized training may substitute year-for-year.
Nice to have - Experience planning migration strategies, including runbook creation, validation, and sequencing. - Deep familiarity with AWS services, inter-account networking, multi-account patterns, and AWS Organizations. - Background in application architecture assessment and dependency mapping. - Working knowledge of AWS Batch, Lambda, and web architecture patterns.
Benefits and work setup - Competitive compensation with professional development support and flexible work arrangements intended to help employees grow personally and professionally.
