Senior Infrastructure Engineer

Role overview

A senior infrastructure engineer role on the Platform team, building and operating cloud infrastructure that serves a large portfolio of client organizations. The work emphasizes SRE best practices, full automation, and scalable data architecture in support of healthcare analytics. The position combines hands-on engineering with cross-team collaboration to improve reliability, security, and cost efficiency.

Responsibilities

- Develop and operate AWS-based cloud infrastructure that meets customer requirements - Build highly reliable, maintainable, and cost-effective platform systems - Solve development and deployment challenges alongside solution architects and forward-deployed engineers - Lead improvements to data infrastructure, pipeline automation, codebase quality, and data quality - Design systems supporting data processing tasks, including metadata, configuration, and pipeline inputs - Strengthen infrastructure security across network, storage, and user access layers - Develop monitoring and alerting for platform infrastructure - Resolve customer-reported issues promptly and participate in on-call rotations - Champion AI-driven development workflows, integrating LLM-based tools into the SDLC

Requirements

- Proficiency in Python with strong troubleshooting and experience building backend APIs and microservices - Expert-level knowledge of AWS core services and scalable solution architecture - Proficiency with Terraform or Scalr and CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions - Solid grasp of networking fundamentals including subnets, CIDR, and VPCs - Familiarity with big data tools and orchestrators such as Snowflake, Databricks, Airflow, or Temporal - Ability to use AI productivity tools to streamline engineering workflows - Strong cross-team communication and a track record of driving complex projects to completion

- AWS certification or additional AWS-focused experience - Experience with data privacy compliance - Background supporting production systems for external customers
