Senior Software Engineer, Cloud Engineering

Role overview

A senior software engineer is needed to join a cloud engineering team focused on maturing and extending an internal developer infrastructure platform. The work centers on building standardized, scalable systems for CI/CD, observability, Kubernetes optimization, environment bootstrapping, and cost efficiency, while guiding other engineers and shaping the organization's path to production.

Responsibilities

- Maintain and evolve infrastructure that product development teams rely on to own and operate their services. - Lead technical decision-making and champion user-centric platform solutions, including agentic workflows and AI-assisted skills that boost developer productivity. - Mentor teammates and promote engineering best practices with a focus on usability and long-term maintainability. - Coordinate across functions to deliver cohesive platform capabilities and reduce friction for consumers. - Draft proposals and decision briefs for new policies, processes, and platform features. - Tackle ambiguous, high-priority problems and ship features that deliver clear value to internal users.

Requirements

- 5+ years of software engineering experience with depth in at least one of platform engineering, cloud engineering, SRE, or DevOps. - Demonstrated technical leadership on infrastructure or platform initiatives. - Hands-on expertise with several tools such as ArgoCD, Grafana, Kubernetes, GitHub, Terraform, Helm, Backstage, or cloud cost optimization tooling. - Proficiency in Python, JavaScript, or Go. - Strong knowledge of cloud-native technologies, ideally on GCP, with AWS also acceptable. - Excellent communication skills and comfort operating independently in ambiguous situations.

- Background in distributed systems architecture and design. - Familiarity with cloud security and governance principles. - Experience designing agentic workflows. - Database expertise. - Prior work building internal developer platforms.
