Snr. Site Reliability Engineer (Remote in Brazil)

Role overview

Improve the reliability, security, scalability, and efficiency of distributed applications and cloud infrastructure. As a senior site reliability engineer, you will work with engineering peers to strengthen AWS services and deployment practices, respond to production issues, and lead projects that make complex systems easier to operate.

Responsibilities

- Build and operate scalable, resilient applications and infrastructure in AWS. - Maintain and extend infrastructure as code using Terraform, and improve deployment strategies and CI/CD workflows. - Establish monitoring, observability, and alerting practices for applications and infrastructure. - Serve as an escalation point during production incidents, investigating causes and coordinating resolution. - Help design globally distributed systems and processes; identify and fix weaknesses in existing services and infrastructure. - Lead projects with other reliability engineers and keep stakeholders informed of progress.

Requirements

- Degree-level education or equivalent, plus at least five years of experience. - Experience designing and operating high-scale systems in AWS. - Ability to write scripts in one or more languages, such as Python, Ruby, or JavaScript. - Experience creating repeatable continuous integration and delivery workflows; GitLab experience is preferred. - Ability to troubleshoot complex distributed systems and manage time across competing projects. - Strong communication skills.

Nice to have

- Secure coding training and confidence writing Python. - Professional-level AWS certification or experience with Google Cloud Platform or Azure. - Open-source contributions, technical writing, or experience at a publicly traded organization.
