Role overview A hands-on studio production role focused on delivering high-quality podcast recordings and live broadcasts for a corporate client environment. The position blends deep technical broadcast expertise with guest-facing hospitality, managing end-to-end production while ensuring a polished experience for senior executives and VIP interviewees. It suits a producer who thrives under live pressure and takes ownership of the entire studio workflow.
Responsibilities - Operate the vMix live production system for multi-camera podcast sessions, configuring templates, scenes, transitions, and overlays tailored to each show - Monitor stream health across platforms such as YouTube Live and LinkedIn, troubleshoot encoding or ingest issues in real time, and manage NDI feeds, virtual sets, and lower-thirds graphics - Run the studio mixing console (digital or analogue) during live recordings, including Dante workflows, applying EQ, compression, gating, and reverb while managing multiple microphone types - Operate and switch between PTZ and manned cameras, directing framing and shot selection, and configuring white balance, exposure, and colour profiles for a consistent look - Serve as the primary point of contact for high-profile guests, briefing them on studio protocols, microphone technique, and on-camera best practices before recording - Conduct pre-show technical checks, handle post-show archival and file management, and collaborate with producers, hosts, editors, and marketing teams to deliver finished episodes
Requirements - Proven experience operating vMix in a live broadcast or studio production setting - Hands-on audio engineering with both analogue and digital mixing consoles and strong grasp of broadcast signal flow - Multi-camera production skills, including PTZ camera operation and live switching - Working knowledge of streaming and video protocols such as RTMP, SRT, and NDI - Demonstrated ability to stay calm under pressure and resolve live technical issues without disrupting on-air talent - Professional interpersonal skills when working with senior executives and VIP guests
Nice to have - Familiarity with podcast hosting platforms and post-production audio tools such as Adobe Audition or Audacity - Understanding of studio lighting design and operation
Benefits and work setup - Full-time, 12-month rolling contract - Remote working arrangement, ideally based near Washington, DC - Salary range of $80,000 to $90,000 depending on experience, plus a benefits package that includes 401k and Flex 125 plans - Three-stage interview process combining virtual and face-to-face stages
