About this role
Role overview Edit and master multitrack dialogue recordings from a production studio, preparing each session to meet specified technical and quality standards. The work focuses on processing six tracks individually, with particular attention to balancing, noise reduction, and timing across four field-recorder channels. This is a hands-on editing contract with an initial 2–4 week term and potential to extend.
Responsibilities - Clean, denoise, level, and align six tracks per session, with an expected pace of roughly one file every three hours. - Apply and adjust processing separately for each channel, correcting timing offsets and related mix issues. - Export completed files through the designated platform in the required format and loudness specification. - Follow the quality rubric and incorporate reviewer feedback. - Report recurring recording problems, such as movement during dialogue or synchronization issues, to the production team.
Requirements - Proficiency with a professional digital audio workstation such as Reaper, Pro Tools, Adobe Audition, or Logic. - Experience editing multitrack dialogue and working with field-recorder audio. - Strong noise-reduction skills using iZotope RX or comparable tools. - Ability to detect and correct timing and phase problems between channels. - Consistent, efficient editing that maintains quality across many files. - Availability for full-time hours for at least the first two weeks.
Nice to have - Podcast, film, or broadcast post-production experience. - Experience delivering work to a rubric or client specification at volume. - Familiarity with Zoom H-series or F-series recorders.
Benefits and work setup The contract is remote, expected to run 20–35 hours per week, with an immediate start and possible extension beyond the initial term.
