Senior Forward Deployed Engineer

Role overview A senior, customer-facing engineering role within a Professional Services organization, focused on designing, deploying, and troubleshooting complex security and infrastructure solutions for enterprise and government clients. The position partners closely with Sales Engineering, Product, and Engineering to translate real-world requirements into reusable architectures and improved delivery practices. It combines deep technical work with significant influence across the customer lifecycle.

Responsibilities - Lead the technical design and execution of complex customer solutions and deployments across enterprise security, cloud, infrastructure, or SaaS environments. - Assess technical feasibility, architecture, risks, dependencies, and integration requirements for each customer environment. - Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical and deployment challenges, partnering with Product and Engineering teams as needed. - Serve as a senior escalation point and trusted technical advisor for challenging customer engagements. - Develop reusable reference architectures, integration patterns, tools, and technical best practices that improve deployment consistency and time-to-value. - Translate recurring field insights into actionable product feedback and technical recommendations. - Mentor Forward Deployed Engineers and other technical team members while contributing to cross-functional improvements in customer experience.

Requirements - Significant experience designing and deploying enterprise security, cloud, infrastructure, or SaaS solutions in complex customer environments. - Strong expertise across enterprise integrations, APIs, distributed systems, networking, identity, security, and cloud technologies. - Proven ability to independently diagnose and resolve complex and ambiguous technical challenges. - Experience spanning solution architecture, presales, implementation, and production deployment. - Strong customer-facing communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences. - Demonstrated ability to collaborate with and influence Product, Engineering, and cross-functional stakeholders without direct authority, plus experience mentoring technical practitioners.
