Role overview A remote, night-shift position within a managed-services network and security team is open to UK-based candidates. The work centres on advanced support and engineering across complex customer environments, spanning SD-WAN, routing, firewalls, and ISP management. The role combines incident response, change delivery, and ongoing maintenance for enterprise infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Resolve advanced network and security incidents and service requests across customer estates - Lead implementation of change requests, project tasks, and planned out-of-hours work - Perform maintenance, software upgrades, and hardware replacements while covering emergency P1/P2 incidents - Troubleshoot complex networking and security issues spanning SD-WAN, routing, switching, and firewalls - Manage ISP circuits and liaise with providers on circuit-related matters - Maintain high-quality documentation and contribute to knowledge sharing within the team
Requirements
- 4–5 years of experience in a network and security support role handling complex customer environments - Working knowledge of ITIL service principles and ITSM platforms such as ServiceNow - Hands-on capability with SD-WAN deployment and troubleshooting, plus Layer 2/3 switching - Advanced routing experience (OSPF, BGP, MPLS) and security technologies including firewall policies, IPS/IDS, web filtering, and secure web gateways - Familiarity with DDI (DNS/DHCP/IPAM) and monitoring tools using SNMP or API-based platforms - Practical exposure to vendors such as VeloCloud, SilverPeak, Fortinet, Zscaler, Infoblox, Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto, or F5
