Role overview This role centers on building well-crafted software alongside a collaborative engineering team focused on code quality, modern architecture, and agile delivery. The engineer will help shape the foundation of a new platform that replaces legacy systems, contributing to tooling, infrastructure, and backend services that support small business financing operations.
Responsibilities - Design, develop, test, and maintain greenfield software built on a strong architectural foundation. - Define architecture, technical patterns, and engineering practices for a new platform while integrating with legacy applications. - Develop backend services primarily in Python, with emphasis on Flask. - Build and integrate solutions using AWS services including Lambda, Cognito, SNS, SQS, and DynamoDB. - Maintain deployment pipelines and CI/CD processes, and manage infrastructure using OpenTofu or Terraform. - Collaborate with stakeholders on roadmap delivery, communicate progress, and surface risks within an Agile/Scrum environment. - Participate in code reviews, mentor junior developers, and partner with technical leadership on scalable practices.
Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. - 5+ years of engineering experience with deep Python expertise (Flask preferred). - Hands-on experience with AWS services such as Lambda, Cognito, SNS, SQS, and DynamoDB. - 2+ years of Salesforce experience. - 3+ years building or maintaining deployment pipelines and CI/CD processes. - Experience with OpenTofu or Terraform and producing clean, well-documented code using modern practices. - Strong communication skills, ability to work under pressure, and a mentorship mindset.
Nice to have - Experience in financial services or lending. - AWS certification.
