Manager, Data Engineering

Role overview A leadership position for a Manager of Data Engineering who will guide a team of data engineers responsible for both Data and ML platforms. Reporting to the Director of Data, this role partners with a Technical Program Manager to set quarterly roadmaps and shape technical direction alongside senior engineers. The mission centers on empowering the broader organization with timely, trustworthy data through scalable ingestion, activation, governance, and self-serve tooling.

Responsibilities - Lead and develop a data engineering team through coaching, regular one-on-ones, constructive feedback, and career mentorship - Recruit, onboard, and scale talent while implementing processes that strengthen delivery and cross-team collaboration - Own the strategy, roadmap, and execution of scalable, cost-efficient data infrastructure spanning storage, compute, and orchestration layers - Ensure data systems are resilient, observable, and governed with strong recovery, monitoring, security, and compliance practices - Partner with engineering, analytics, and go-to-market teams to deliver well-structured product data and build automation that accelerates workflows - Champion the use of AI tools to improve data infrastructure and enable continuous experimentation across the data platform

Requirements - Proven experience managing engineering teams, ideally within data engineering, with a track record of delivery - Hands-on background designing and operating large-scale data infrastructure, including storage, compute, and orchestration systems - Demonstrated ability to set technical direction and collaborate with senior engineers and architects - Strong people-leadership skills, including goal-setting, performance management, and individual growth planning - Experience working cross-functionally to align data platform capabilities with business and product needs

Nice to have - Familiarity with machine learning platforms and the intersection of data and ML workloads - Experience introducing AI-assisted tooling into data engineering workflows
