Senior Data Architect (MS Purview)

Role overview Lead hands-on data architecture and governance work centered on implementing Microsoft Purview in enterprise environments. The role combines solution design, client consulting, and operational delivery, from gathering requirements and configuring the platform through its transition into day-to-day use.

Responsibilities - Implement and configure Microsoft Purview, including metadata management, source scanning, classification, glossary, and lineage capabilities. - Design and maintain a data catalog that supports discovery across an organization. - Lead client workshops, translate business needs into technical designs, and guide decisions through to resolution. - Recommend scalable, standards-aligned approaches and document architecture, design decisions, and operating guidance. - Support the operational handover and guide other members of the implementation team.

Requirements - At least five years of experience in data architecture and/or data governance. - Demonstrated enterprise experience implementing and configuring Microsoft Purview, with project references; proof-of-concept or training experience alone is insufficient. - Practical experience with metadata management, data catalogs, source scanning, classification, business glossaries, and lineage. - Understanding of governance frameworks, data ownership, and stewardship models. - Ability to lead workshops and end-to-end solution design, communicate clearly, and take ownership of technical decisions.

Nice to have - Experience with data discovery, governance operating models, or other catalog platforms. - Familiarity with Azure data services such as Data Lake, Synapse, or Fabric, and Purview security or compliance features such as sensitivity labels and DLP.
