A remote Project Engineer role focused on delivering end-to-end infrastructure technology projects for a diverse client base. The position blends solution design, deployment, and optimization work with strong collaboration across distributed teams, typically suiting someone with around five years of experience building complete technology stacks.
Responsibilities
- Lead the delivery of key infrastructure projects from kickoff through completion, ensuring client requirements, quality standards, and timelines are met. - Design, test, and deploy technology solutions spanning endpoints, servers, cloud platforms, and networks. - Proactively identify and resolve performance or reliability issues across client environments. - Configure and roll out infrastructure changes including firewalls, servers, networking gear, and wireless access points. - Partner with internal teams and client stakeholders to maintain clear communication and smooth project execution.
Requirements
- Demonstrable experience designing, testing, and deploying complete technology solutions, generally around five years. - Hands-on and remote deployment experience across endpoints, servers, cloud, and network technologies. - Strong technical proficiency with infrastructure components and system configuration. - Experience working with remote, distributed teams in a fast-paced consulting setting. - Home office equipped with Windows 11 or macOS 12+, at least 8 GB RAM, a stable 5 Mbps connection, a quality headset, HD webcam, second monitor, and a smartphone for authenticator apps. - Strong written and spoken English, full-time availability Monday through Friday on a defined Pacific-time schedule.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with Professional Services Automation or ticketing platforms such as ConnectWise. - Prior Managed Service Provider (MSP) experience supporting multiple clients. - Hands-on use of Remote Monitoring and Management tools like Kaseya, LabTech, or ConnectWise Automate. - At least two certifications from CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, or 3CX Basic Certified Engineer. - Depth in two or more areas such as Windows Server setup, Active Directory, DNS/DHCP, Hyper-V, VMware ESXi, Nutanix, Microsoft 365 apps, Azure AD/Entra ID, Intune, email migration, NAS solutions, Cisco Meraki, Ubiquiti, SonicWall, or Fortinet.
