About this role

Role overview A Technical Program Manager III is needed to coordinate complex hardware development programs for next-generation consumer electronics, with an emphasis on Smart Glasses. The role centers on driving engineering deliverables, supplier coordination, build execution, and manufacturing readiness across cross-functional teams from concept through mass production. The position is remote with a Pacific Time preference, structured as a full-time twelve-month engagement.

Responsibilities - Partner with hardware design TPMs to coordinate engineering deliverables such as specifications, design experiments, validation plans, and engineering milestones. - Drive component delivery, supplier coordination, and qualification activities to support development builds and mass-production schedules. - Build integrated development, delivery, build, and qualification schedules based on system requirements, technical challenges, supplier lead times, and business priorities. - Coordinate product design convergence, design lock, Design for Manufacturing (DFM), and manufacturing readiness activities. - Plan Design of Experiments (DOE), build matrices, material readiness, and engineering deliverables for system builds. - Track program status, risks, dependencies, and schedule threats, providing clear updates to engineering teams and leadership. - Coordinate across engineering, suppliers, and manufacturing partners to support Smart Glasses program planning and build strategy.

Requirements - Five or more years of experience in hardware engineering or technical program management within consumer electronics. - Background managing technology development programs from product design through manufacturing and qualification. - Experience working with overseas hardware suppliers and managing component delivery. - Familiarity with ODM, JDM, and CM vendor engagement models. - Knowledge of phase-gate technology development processes. - Experience with mechanical system development, DFM, tooling, validation, and characterization. - Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.

Nice to have - Prior hands-on hardware engineering experience before transitioning into program management. - Background supporting consumer electronics programs, especially wearables or Smart Glasses. - Experience coordinating large numbers of cross-functional engineering, manufacturing, and supplier partners.
