Role overview Build and strengthen the cloud platform that supports a security product, with a focus on resilience, performance, and scale. This staff-level engineering role combines hands-on infrastructure development with technical leadership across complex multi-region environments, from Kubernetes tooling to failover automation and production troubleshooting.
Responsibilities - Design and improve infrastructure across multi-region or multi-cloud environments to raise reliability, manage cost, and support capacity failover. - Build Kubernetes controllers and platform tools, along with infrastructure code using Terraform and languages such as Go, Python, or Ruby. - Extend observability systems to improve visibility into platform health and performance. - Diagnose and resolve difficult production issues, bottlenecks, and resource constraints. - Work with engineering teams to guide architecture decisions and remove infrastructure friction. - Use AI coding agents to accelerate development while reviewing and verifying their output before it reaches production.
Requirements - At least seven years managing Linux-based cloud infrastructure. - Deep experience with multi-region or multi-cloud resilience. - At least three years operating production workloads on Kubernetes. - Strong coding skills in Go, Ruby, or Python, with experience building scalable infrastructure tools. - Experience with enterprise observability platforms and diagnosing performance issues. - Experience with Terraform or a similar infrastructure-as-code tool. - Clear communication and a record of solving platform problems across engineering teams.
