About this role
Role overview
Build and operate the cloud platform that supports a large live-streaming service and other products. You’ll work hands-on across infrastructure, shared services, delivery tooling, and reliability, helping engineering teams deploy and run systems safely at high traffic volumes.
Responsibilities
- Develop and operate shared platform services, including Kubernetes-based real-time messaging infrastructure. - Provision cloud environments and reusable deployment patterns with AWS, Terraform, and GitOps tools. - Improve CI/CD pipelines, release controls, monitoring, logging, and incident response practices. - Find and resolve performance, reliability, and scalability bottlenecks in distributed systems. - Prepare for major traffic events through load testing, capacity planning, autoscaling checks, and readiness reviews. - Lead platform work across a distributed team and participate in a follow-the-sun on-call rotation.
Requirements
- At least six years of hands-on experience in infrastructure, DevOps, or software engineering focused on scalable systems. - Experience with AWS EKS and services such as EC2, RDS, ElastiCache, and IAM; Terraform; and observability tools such as Datadog or Cloudflare. - Familiarity with Golang and Node.js/TypeScript, plus strong networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, DNS, and VPCs. - Experience with microservices and large-scale distributed systems, and a working understanding of security practices. - Strong problem-solving, ownership, and written and verbal communication skills for collaboration across time zones. - A relevant degree or equivalent practical experience.
Nice to have
- Experience with high-connection-volume or real-time messaging services, and preparing high-traffic systems for live events. - Familiarity with ArgoCD, GitHub Actions, and internal developer platforms or self-service tooling.
