Senior Engineering Manager - Tenant

Role overview Manage a senior engineering team responsible for delivering and operating a private-cloud product that enterprise customers run in their own cloud environments. You’ll combine people leadership and technical judgment, coordinating work across engineering and customer-facing groups while keeping the product reliable and aligned with its hosted counterpart.

Responsibilities - Own delivery of the infrastructure, tools, and operational processes that support customer-managed cloud instances. - Coordinate with field engineering, support, and sales on evaluations, security reviews, access requirements, and customer escalations. - Prioritize work across teams so private-cloud and hosted product capabilities remain closely aligned. - Feed useful tools and practices developed for private deployments back into shared infrastructure. - Develop a small, experienced team, reduce reliance on individual experts, and hire and onboard additional engineers as the product grows. - Balance customer requests and product growth against a broad technical scope, making clear prioritization decisions.

Requirements - At least one year managing a highly technical, senior engineering team. - Strong engineering background and a record of influencing across teams. - Experience leading production on-call operations, with a focus on operational health. - Experience shipping and operating software in environments with limited control, such as on-premises, private cloud, BYOC, or single-tenant deployments. - Working knowledge of Kubernetes and AWS sufficient to review designs and contribute to incident reviews. - Confidence working directly with enterprise customers on security, access, procurement, and escalations. - Experience hiring and onboarding engineers into a complex technical domain; able to prioritize carefully and use AI tools thoughtfully.

Nice to have - Familiarity with observability or OpenTelemetry. - Interest in contributing to and reviewing code; experience with Go, Terraform, Kafka, or large-scale data infrastructure.
