Head of Machine Learning

Role overview

A senior engineering leader is needed to build and direct the machine learning function for a marketing technology platform that helps companies activate customer data. The role combines people leadership with active technical involvement, and is responsible for shaping ML strategy across personalization, identity, content generation, and production-scale ML infrastructure.

Responsibilities

- Own the roadmap and delivery of ML-powered features that improve audience selection, content generation, and message timing - Lead, hire, and grow the ML engineering team, including evaluation design and onboarding - Set a high technical bar while making pragmatic tradeoffs between research depth and shipping pace - Improve execution speed through a combination of leadership judgment and hands-on technical contribution - Build and operate scalable training and inference infrastructure for enterprise workloads - Champion reliability practices and incident hygiene across ML-powered systems

Requirements

- Demonstrated success leading engineering teams that ship ML or data-driven products to production - Strong technical depth in at least one area such as personalization, recommendation systems, probabilistic modeling, or large-scale ML infrastructure - Experience working with customer or behavioral data, ideally on top of data warehouses - Track record of balancing exploratory research with shipping velocity - Ability to recruit, mentor, and develop senior engineers

Nice to have

- Background in identity resolution or probabilistic entity matching - Familiarity with LLM-based content generation systems
