About this role
Role overview
Lead the next phase of growth for a portfolio of widely deployed AI products powering customer experience workflows, including agent-assist, conversational analytics, and generative-AI tooling. This is a senior engineering leadership role with end-to-end ownership spanning product evolution, architecture, and 24×7 operations at enterprise scale.
Responsibilities
- Direct the engineering organization responsible for agent-assist, conversational analytics, and generative-AI platform products from roadmap through live operations. - Expand capability and reach of the product line by integrating advances in LLMs, retrieval, and multi-agent orchestration into production systems. - Set and execute a long-range technical strategy that balances velocity, quality, and platform scalability across multi-region deployments. - Grow and mentor a multi-disciplinary organization spanning backend, ML, frontend, DevOps, and SRE; recruit senior leaders and technologists. - Partner with Product, Design, Sales Engineering, Customer Success, and Executive Leadership to translate customer problems into clear technical strategies. - Uphold SRE practices (SLIs/SLOs, incident management, error budgets) and security/compliance posture for enterprise SaaS environments.
Requirements
- 10+ years in engineering management, including leadership of engineering delivery for customer-experience AI products. - Deep expertise in modern AI architectures (LLMs, RAG, embeddings, vector databases, multimodal models) and integrating LLMs into production with prompt orchestration, function calling, and structured outputs. - Expert-level proficiency in Java and JVM-based ecosystems, with strong command of microservices, event-driven architectures, concurrency, and fault tolerance. - Hands-on experience running scalable, low-latency enterprise SaaS on public cloud (AWS, GCP, or Azure) using CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code. - Track record operating 24×7 production systems at scale, ideally across multi-region deployments, with knowledge of security and compliance relevant to contact-center-as-a-service settings. - Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate vision, architecture, and trade-offs to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Nice to have
- Practical experience with applied ML for NLP, ASR/TTS, NLU, and agent-assist use cases. - Background in model optimization techniques such as fine-tuning, distillation, quantization, pruning, or mixture-of-experts. - Direct experience with Google Cloud Platform, network fundamentals including WebRTC, and compliance regimes such as SOC 2, GDPR, HIPAA, or FedRAMP.
Benefits and work setup
- US base salary range of $233,000–$512,000, with potential eligibility for an annual performance bonus, stock, or other incentive compensation. - Health, dental, and vision coverage starting on day one, with the employer covering 100% of the employee premium and sharing a meaningful portion of dependent costs, plus short- and long-term disability, basic life insurance, and a 401(k) with employer matching. - Access to a mental health support platform offering therapy, coaching, and self-guided mindfulness resources for employees and covered dependents. - Generous employee stock purchase plan, paid time off, company-paid holidays, paid volunteer hours, and 12 weeks of paid parental leave. - Fully remote for candidates residing outside a 30-mile radius of an office; hybrid (three days per week in office: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday) for those within the radius.
