Role overview
Join an agile software engineering team building scalable, customer-facing applications across digital channels. This senior role spans the full product lifecycle, from shaping ideas and analyzing requirements through architecture, implementation, testing, release, and ongoing improvement, with a particular focus on using Claude Code or Google Gemini.
Responsibilities
- Design application architectures and produce clear engineering specifications that balance immediate delivery needs with longer-term platform capabilities. - Write maintainable, standards-compliant code; participate in code reviews; and help ensure solutions are reliable, scalable, fault-tolerant, and performant. - Translate product requirements, user stories, prototypes, and design concepts into working applications and technical tasks. - Contribute throughout Scrum delivery, including planning, estimation, acceptance criteria, sprint execution, status tracking, and timely escalation of blockers. - Monitor progress against delivery plans and communicate risks, technical difficulties, and status updates to technical leads and Scrum stakeholders. - Mentor associate and intermediate engineers and contribute to continuous improvement of engineering practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field; a master’s degree is preferred. - At least 5 years of experience with algorithms, data structures, design patterns, scalable systems, and system architecture. - At least 5 years using a modern programming language such as Java, Python, JavaScript, C#, C++, or Go. - Experience with REST, HTTPS, JSON, and at least two of the following areas: React, Angular, Node.js, NoSQL databases, HTML5, CSS, Google Cloud Platform, or Amazon Web Services. - Experience with professional software engineering practices, including unit testing, source control, build processes, operations, and code review. - Demonstrated ownership, urgency, user-experience focus, agile delivery experience, and willingness to mentor other engineers.
Nice to have
- Experience designing or developing healthcare applications, translating mockups and user stories into software, or working with machine learning topics such as natural-language understanding, machine translation, or deep neural networks.
Benefits and work setup
- The listed base salary range is $102,700-$164,600, with placement influenced by qualifications, experience, expected contribution, internal equity, market conditions, and location.
