Proprietary Intelligence Engineer: Industrials

Role overview Own production intelligence systems focused on industrial supply chains, physical assets, logistics and corporate activity. The work runs end to end: finding useful data sources, collecting and processing information at scale, applying models to extract signals, and delivering results through production APIs and applications for institutional decision-makers.

Responsibilities - Build high-volume collection systems for varied sources and formats, including imagery, documents, satellite data and sensor feeds. - Develop ETL/ELT pipelines and data models, moving information into systems such as PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, object storage and Snowflake. - Apply language models and embeddings to entity resolution, classification, tone analysis and summarisation in batch or real time. - Deliver API services and applications, with deployment, monitoring and alerting for production use. - Establish data quality controls, sensible retries and explicit error handling so issues are surfaced promptly. - Take ownership of a source or system from initial investigation through client-facing delivery, working with technical and institutional stakeholders.

Requirements - Strong Python skills, including asynchronous programming, typing and performance-aware development; relevant tools include Scrapy, FastAPI, SQLAlchemy, pandas and asyncio. - Strong SQL and PostgreSQL skills, including query analysis, indexing, partitioning, CTEs and window functions. - Experience debugging Linux systems and deploying services with Docker; Kubernetes is part of the production environment. - Experience operating high-stakes data collectors and production pipelines. - Experience using modern language models or embeddings, with judgment around cost, latency and accuracy trade-offs. - Strict respect for legal, contractual, privacy and ethical boundaries.
