Director, Mobile Engineering

Role overview Lead mobile engineering across a multi-team product portfolio focused on helping people build healthier sleep habits. You will manage engineering managers, set technical and architectural direction for iOS and Android, and coordinate delivery with Product, Design, QA, Analytics, and other partners. The role combines organizational leadership with accountability for engineering quality, capacity, and a coherent mobile strategy.

Responsibilities - Manage and develop mobile engineering managers, including regular coaching, feedback, and support for future technical leaders. - Set cross-team direction for mobile architecture, delivery, resourcing, and escalations across four product areas. - Establish architecture governance and lead the architectural decision review process, including decisions that affect roadmaps or capacity. - Coordinate with Product and Design on planning and prioritization, and bring mobile capacity and delivery considerations into roadmap decisions. - Oversee software quality with QA, guide hiring and interview decisions, and shape mobile team health and operating practices. - Define an approach to AI adoption and tooling efficiency across the mobile organization; contribute selectively to individual engineering work as capacity allows.

Requirements - Significant experience leading mobile engineering organizations, including direct management of engineering managers. - Ability to guide iOS and Android strategy and make architectural decisions across multiple teams. - Strong judgment in balancing technical direction, delivery commitments, staffing, and product priorities. - Experience building effective partnerships with Product, Design, QA, and other cross-functional stakeholders. - Clear communication skills, including the ability to explain complex tradeoffs and support a collaborative, product-focused engineering culture.
