Job details
About this role
Role overview
A senior leadership role directing an operational technology and IoT security services practice that protects industrial control systems across critical infrastructure sectors, including energy, water, manufacturing, healthcare, and transportation. The position owns the full practice—team, service catalog, delivery quality, and financial performance—while acting as the principal technical and client escalation point. Work is remote within the U.S., with regular travel to industrial client sites and a hands-on culture that values engineers who understand the physical process as well as the network.
Responsibilities
- Lead and scale a team of managers, engineers, and operations staff, running regular one-on-ones and reshaping structure as the practice grows - Build a mentorship program that pairs seasoned OT engineers with colleagues newer to industrial security or client-facing delivery - Stay close to active engagements so that technical and client issues surface early, and serve as the senior escalation point when they escalate - Partner with regional sales teams and technology vendors to scope work, return pricing quickly, and win follow-on engagements - Oversee delivery of OT risk assessments against frameworks such as ISA/IEC 62443, NIST SP 800-82, NERC CIP, and TSA security directives, as well as live-environment penetration tests, network segmentation design, and ongoing vulnerability management - Guide deployment and tuning of OT visibility and secure remote access platforms, leveraging an in-house multi-vendor lab for evaluation and proof-of-concept work
Requirements
- Substantial experience with operational technology environments and the operational constraints of industrial control systems - Proven track record leading technical teams, ideally with roots in plant-floor engineering, utilities, oil and gas, manufacturing, nuclear, or military service - Working knowledge of standards such as ISA/IEC 62443, NIST SP 800-82, NERC CIP, and the TSA security directives - Demonstrated ability to manage a P&L, shape a service catalog, and partner with sales on complex pursuits - A relevant certification such as CISSP, GICSP, ISA/IEC 62443, or CISM - Willingness to travel up to 30% to client industrial sites, regional offices, and occasional industry events; able to walk plant floors and enter operational areas
Nice to have
- Hands-on familiarity with multiple OT visibility and secure remote access platforms - Experience building or operating an OT lab with PLC hardware for side-by-side vendor comparison - Comfort advising clients with vendor-objective recommendations across competing platforms
Benefits and work setup
- Primarily remote workforce within the U.S. - Group medical insurance options, including a zero-deductible PPO and a high-deductible health plan with employer HSA contributions - Group dental insurance with employer-covered premiums - Twelve corporate holidays plus a flexible time off program - Monthly stipend for mobile phone and home internet - Retirement plan eligibility after two months - Optional pet benefit program
