Role overview This part-time, remote internship sits within an application security team and rotates across three practice areas: AI harness development, AppSec tool management, and manual code review. Interns work alongside experienced practitioners on real engagements rather than simulations, with structured mentorship and exposure to client-facing work. It is designed for technically capable learners with a genuine interest in security and AI-enabled automation.
Responsibilities - Build and iterate on AI-assisted security harnesses, including prompt design, tool integration, and output validation - Develop AI-driven workflows for security reporting, findings documentation, and evidence collection - Operate and configure SAST, DAST, SCA, IAST, and RASP tools, triaging and validating findings - Support tool configuration, tuning, and integration within CI/CD pipelines and SDLC workflows - Perform manual code reviews under mentorship across multiple languages, applying OWASP and secure coding standards - Document findings with supporting evidence, risk context, and remediation guidance
Requirements - Currently enrolled in, or recently graduated from, a degree program in computer science, software engineering, or a related engineering field, or equivalent demonstrated through significant hands-on programming experience - Exposure to one or more programming languages such as Python, JavaScript, or Java, and comfort reading and analyzing code - Demonstrated interest in AI tools and their application to security workflows - Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to document and present technical findings - Technical aptitude and eagerness to learn hands-on in a fast-paced, practitioner-led environment
Benefits and work setup - Part-time remote paid internship at $20 per hour, running 12 weeks with potential for full-time conversion - 25-29 hours per week, Monday through Friday, aligned to Eastern Time Zone hours - Must be physically located in the United States with a personal computing device and high-speed internet - Position not open to candidates residing in Alaska, California, Hawaii, New Mexico, New York, Oregon, Washington, or Wyoming
