Senior Backend Developer (Rust&Node.JS)

Role overview Join the platform team behind a high-scale, performance-marketing ad-tracking and attribution product that has been running in production for over six years. The system processes clicks, installs, and conversions at scale using a Rust tracker plus roughly thirty supporting services for ingest, attribution, conversion reporting, and scheduled jobs. This is a broad, high-ownership role for an engineer who values choosing the right tool over sticking to one language, with accuracy and revenue correctness treated as non-negotiable.

Responsibilities - Design, build, and operate services across the Rust tracker and the broader Node.js service fleet - Reason about query plans, concurrency, and deadlock behavior in SQL-backed systems - Work with Kafka consumer semantics, ordering, and replay for streaming pipelines - Operate and troubleshoot production infrastructure on AWS EKS, including managed databases and managed Kafka - Author and debug Helm charts, Docker images, and CI/CD pipelines end to end - Mentor teammates through thoughtful code review and architectural thinking across a complex system

Requirements - 7+ years of backend engineering experience, including 1+ year of production Rust - Working knowledge of TypeScript and Node.js, comfortable extending a NestJS API unsupervised - Strong SQL skills, including the ability to reason about query plans and concurrency behavior - Real operational AWS experience (not just certification) with EKS, managed databases, managed Kafka, and S3 - Advanced Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm skills, plus a track record of building CI/CD pipelines rather than only consuming them - C1 or higher English, strong technical writing, and a clear habit of raising concerns early

Nice to have - Testing discipline for code that handles money, with a clear sense of what to deliberately leave untested - Comfort working from thin briefs, forming hypotheses, and driving work to completion independently
