Job details
About this role
Role overview A remote senior engineering position focused on deep work inside the Chromium open-source browser engine and its Blink rendering component. The role spans custom browser development, fork maintenance, and performance or security hardening across large-scale C++ codebases. It suits an engineer who enjoys low-level systems work and long-term ownership of complex rendering and process-model code paths.
Responsibilities - Develop and maintain C++ code inside the Chromium and Blink codebases - Build, customize, and harden custom Chromium-based browsers for varied client use cases - Maintain downstream forks, including upstream version porting and patch rebasing - Investigate rendering, networking, and process-model issues at the engine level - Collaborate with security and QA teams on browser hardening and anti-fingerprinting work
Requirements - Several years of professional C++ experience on large-scale systems code - Hands-on familiarity with Chromium internals, Blink, or comparable browser engines - Comfort with the GN and Ninja build systems and version control with Git - Solid understanding of multi-process browser architecture and performance trade-offs - Ability to debug complex issues across rendering, networking, and security layers
Nice to have - Prior open-source contributions to browser or rendering-engine projects - Experience with embedded browser scenarios such as CEF or WebView2 - Background in hardening techniques and anti-fingerprinting strategies
Benefits and work setup Fully remote role; pay, contract type, and working hours are discussed individually before any offer is made.
