Role overview
This mid-level field IT role supports end-user technology and core infrastructure across multiple business locations, including offices, retail sites, manufacturing facilities, warehouses, and active construction sites. The position serves as a reliable escalation point for routine and moderately complex technical issues, takes ownership of assigned systems, and helps drive infrastructure projects and improvements.
Responsibilities
- Independently troubleshoot, install, configure, and repair PCs, laptops, point-of-sale systems, receipt and label printers, iOS devices, VoIP phones, and related end-user technology. - Support and maintain server environments, Windows Server infrastructure, switches, firewalls, wireless access points, IoT devices, ISP circuits, and structured cabling. - Monitor, prioritize, and resolve incidents and service requests through a helpdesk platform, responding to alerts from monitoring tools and acting as an escalation resource for less-experienced team members. - Coordinate assigned portions of infrastructure upgrades, site openings, remodels, equipment refreshes, and new technology deployments. - Create and maintain technical documentation, support procedures, diagrams, and knowledge-base articles while reinforcing standards for security, change control, and customer communication.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in IT or a related field preferred. - 3+ years of progressively responsible experience in IT operations, infrastructure support, field services, or systems administration. - Working knowledge of end-user devices, retail point-of-sale systems, Windows environments, server and network infrastructure, monitoring platforms, and IT service management practices. - Ability to independently troubleshoot moderately complex hardware, software, server, network, and connectivity issues, including copper Ethernet and single-mode fiber. - Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to organize work, manage multiple priorities, and operate with limited day-to-day supervision. - Valid driver's license, ability to pass state cannabis licensing requirements including federal background checks, and willingness to travel up to 40% with occasional last-minute trips, plus on-call, weekend, and holiday rotations.
Physical requirements
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, climb ladders, use hand tools, and work in environments that may be hot, cold, dusty, noisy, or temporarily without standard facilities.
