Senior Product Designer, Knowledge Graph | NASA | Remote

Role overview

This senior design role focuses on shaping the experience of a context layer that automatically maps services, infrastructure, and databases from telemetry data, helping engineers and site reliability practitioners understand their systems and resolve incidents faster. The position sits within a large, fully remote product design organization and partners closely with engineering, product, and go-to-market teams. It is an opportunity to develop deep expertise in entity graphs, entity catalogs, and root cause analysis workbenches while influencing how a distributed design team scales and collaborates.

Responsibilities

- Design intuitive ways to visualize how services, databases, and infrastructure connect and depend on each other, even as that information constantly changes - Translate research findings and data into experiences that reduce complexity for users - Tailor interfaces for multiple target audiences and user perspectives within the product area - Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, product management, technical writing, and go-to-market teams - Document user needs, design directions, trade-offs, and detailed feature designs - Participate in research initiatives, contributing to both qualitative and quantitative studies

Requirements

- 7+ years of relevant design experience on B2B or enterprise software products, ideally designing tools or services - Portfolio demonstrating product design work and shipped outcomes - Strong async communication, facilitation, and remote collaboration skills - Experience working cross-functionally with engineering and product counterparts - Ability to balance customer impact, business priorities, and technical constraints

Nice to have

- Background designing for observability, monitoring, or incident response products - Familiarity with knowledge graphs, entity modeling, or service maps
