Engineering Lead - US Healthtech AI

Role overview Lead the initial engineering presence in Latin America for an AI-powered healthcare revenue cycle management product used by more than 10,000 providers. The position begins with hands-on production engineering, then expands into hiring and leading a team responsible for a product area such as payer portal automation, payer policy tools, or voice AI. You’ll work closely with US product and engineering partners and own delivery through production support in a HIPAA-regulated environment.

Responsibilities - Design, build, and ship production features from the start. - Guide a product area from architecture and implementation through ongoing production support. - Recruit, mentor, and grow an engineering team, initially expected to have 3–5 people and potentially reaching 15–25 within a year. - Set team practices and coordinate predictable delivery with US-based product and engineering colleagues. - Maintain strong standards for software quality and security in a regulated healthcare setting.

Requirements - At least 10 years of experience building full-stack SaaS products. - Engineering management or director-level leadership experience, ideally including forming a team from scratch, while remaining hands-on in code. - Strong experience with Python, React, TypeScript, AWS, Postgres, and Snowflake. - Fluent English and substantial experience collaborating with US teams. - A strong sense of ownership and a record of dependable delivery. - Ability to work remotely from Latin America with overlap during US Eastern Time hours.

Nice to have - Healthcare technology or revenue cycle management experience is strongly preferred. - Experience with payer integrations, robotic process automation, large language models, FastAPI, or LangChain.
