Principal Product Program Manager
Job details
About this role
Role overview
This is a senior, principal-level program management role embedded in a SaaS product organization, focused on translating high-ambition company goals into a structured, system-level execution view. The position centers on operating complex concurrent programs, leading cross-functional execution rhythms, and weaving AI and agentic tooling into the daily program architecture. It is a hands-on leadership seat for someone who can govern the inherent unpredictability of AI-driven development while still landing outcomes on time.
Responsibilities
- Drive multiple concurrent programs of varying size and complexity, maintaining objective oversight while owning delivery outcomes end to end. - Apply a defined Program Playbook to ensure that technical capabilities and targeted business results are both fully realized. - Establish an execution rhythm with rituals that force decision-making, clear blockers, and clarify ownership across teams. - Serve as an information radiator for leadership, with clear reporting on delivery health, milestones, dependencies, and forward-looking risk. - Embed AI and agentic tools into program workflows, including automating RAID logs and synthesizing concise executive status updates. - Adapt traditional program management to the experimentation pace of AI development, planning for unpredictability rather than fighting it. - Maintain a centralized work surface (e.g., Jira, Confluence) as the canonical hub for initiative status, critical paths, and cross-team dependencies.
Requirements
- At least 7 years of experience in SaaS product development, program management, and release management. - Direct experience with AI-driven development lifecycles and integrating AI/agentic workflows into program management practice. - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, or a closely related technical field. - Demonstrated ability to earn trust quickly, mobilize teams, and set direction in highly ambiguous environments. - Comfort delivering hard messages with grace, resolving conflict, and adapting rapidly to change. - Working familiarity with standard project management tooling (e.g., Jira, Confluence, Google Suite).
Nice to have
- Deep familiarity with the evolving AI landscape, including LLMs, generative AI, and agentic frameworks, applied to forward-looking program strategy. - Strong presentation, negotiation, and collaboration skills across all organizational levels. - A strategic mindset that balances business outcomes with deep technology judgment.
Benefits and work setup
- Annual gross base salary range of £82,000 to £102,000 plus variable compensation, with eligibility for an annual bonus dependent on individual and company performance. - Remote-first culture with flexible time off, generous paid parental leave, spending accounts, medical, dental, and vision insurance, and a sabbatical after five years of service.
