Head of Product, PAYO Digital Bank
Job details
About this role
Role overview
A national trust bank subsidiary is building a regulated stablecoin and digital banking platform and is hiring a Head of Product to own the end-to-end product vision and roadmap. Reporting to the bank's CTO, the role leads compliance-embedded design, engineering partnership, and launch governance through pre-opening readiness, controlled pilot, and general availability. The position requires representing product decisions confidently to the board, management committees, and federal banking examiners.
Responsibilities
- Define and own the product roadmap for stablecoin issuance, redemption, and payment flows, sequenced to regulatory milestones spanning exam readiness through controlled pilot and full launch. - Serve as the senior unblocker for engineering, driving prioritization, setting acceptance criteria, and managing trade-offs to keep delivery on schedule without compromising compliance. - Partner with Compliance to embed KYC, sanctions screening, and transaction monitoring directly into product flows and to document user journeys at a standard suitable for regulatory examination. - Design the controlled pilot, including transaction volume caps, staged merchant onboarding, clearly defined launch gates, and feature freeze discipline ahead of user acceptance testing. - Own product requirements for core banking, custody, screening, and oracle infrastructure partners, shaping integration choices with Engineering. - Shape requirements supporting proof-of-reserve attestation so holders can verify 1:1 backing, and represent product decisions to the board, management committees, and OCC examiners.
Requirements
- 10+ years of product management experience, including at least 5 years in payments, banking, or digital assets. - Direct experience shipping products inside a regulated financial institution, ideally under OCC, Federal Reserve, or state banking supervision. - Demonstrated success taking a complex product from concept to launch, navigating technical dependencies, pilot design, and staged rollouts. - Working knowledge of mint and burn flows, reserve backing, redemption rights, and on-chain and off-chain reconciliation. - Track record of building compliance requirements into core product architecture rather than layering them on afterward. - Strong written and verbal communication skills, including producing documentation reviewed by regulators and external auditors and presenting to examiners.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with the Permitted Payment Stablecoin Issuer framework. - Experience serving small and medium-sized business or cross-border payments customers.
Benefits and work setup
- Full-time, on-site or hybrid position based in New York, NY or Miami, FL. - Annual base salary range of $220,000–$320,000 USD. - Health insurance, disability insurance, life insurance, 401(k), paid time off, and sick (and where applicable safe) leave. - Eligibility for a discretionary year-end bonus.
