Senior Backend Engineer, Analytics Instrumentation (Golang)

Role overview A senior backend engineering role focused on building the analytics instrumentation services that power product analytics, written in Go (Golang). The position is remote and open to candidates based in Canada or the United States, embedded within a team responsible for telemetry, eventing, and data quality.

Responsibilities - Design, build, and operate backend services that collect and route analytics events reliably at scale. - Write clean, well-tested Go code and contribute to shared service architecture and tooling. - Collaborate with data and product teams to define event schemas, instrumentation standards, and quality checks. - Improve reliability, performance, and observability of instrumentation pipelines. - Participate in code review and contribute to operational practices such as incident response and on-call rotations.

Requirements - Significant professional experience writing production-grade Go. - Strong understanding of distributed systems, streaming, or event-processing patterns. - Familiarity with analytics, telemetry, or observability infrastructure and concepts. - Solid grounding in testing strategies, code review, and operational excellence. - Ability to work effectively with remote, distributed teammates.

Nice to have - Experience with cloud platforms and infrastructure-as-code tooling. - Background contributing to open-source projects or internal SDK development.
