Staff Backend Engineer, Developer Experience

Role overview A staff-level backend engineering role focused on developer experience, remote across Canada, the United Kingdom, and the United States. The work centers on building and improving the internal platforms, tooling, and services that other engineers rely on to ship software effectively.

Responsibilities - Design and build backend services that improve the developer workflow - Improve build, test, and deployment systems used across engineering - Partner with developer-facing teams to identify and remove friction in the SDLC - Contribute to technical direction and architectural decisions for the developer platform - Mentor engineers and raise the bar for code quality and engineering practices

Requirements - Significant professional experience in backend software engineering at a senior or staff level - Proficiency with one or more modern backend languages and frameworks - Familiarity with developer-facing concerns such as CI/CD, build systems, or internal platforms - Strong system design and code review skills - Comfort working asynchronously in a remote, distributed environment
